“Mummy, Mummy, Benny is with us in class this week, and we learned today that we always have to ask if we want to touch him.

Lisette Jupke, trainiert schon seit Jahrzehnten in ihrer Sportart Judo, zahlreiche Kinder in Judovereinen. Durch ihren Sport geprägt, welcher Respekt und Achtung vor dem Partner voraussetzt, hat bei ihr die Verantwortung und der Umgang mit Tieren ebenfalls einen sehr hohen Stellenwert. In vielen Gesprächen mit den Kindern stellte sie fest, dass fast alle Kinder sich einen Hund wünschen, aber nur die wenigsten Eltern wissen, welcher Hund zu ihrer Familie passt. In ihrem Buch „Die Deklarationstäuschung – Augen auf beim Futterkauf“ sensibilisieren sie und Tim Knobloch die Leser: innen genau zu schauen, was in den Napf kommt. Daher auch ihr Wunsch, genau zu schauen, welcher Hund passt wirklich zu wem.

Veronika Murray, has been the middle school class leader at Active School, Petershausen since 2017. Working as a teacher has always been her aspired goal. After completing her teacher training for the Gymnasium, she was looking for a way to work closer to the students and found it at ASP. The freedom to work individually with the pupils and to pick them up where they are is a great concern for her. Every child has different interests and can achieve great learning progress by bringing these in. When Ms Jupke approached her with the idea of translating the book, she was immediately hooked. It precisely projects like this that encourage the children's self-motivation and in this case, rewarded them with a wonderful result!
